Hike & Bike Trail
Faulkey Gully Hike & Bike Trail
Heatherwood Village is privileged to be one of the neighborhoods along the Faulkey Gully Hike & Bike Trail,
which is owned and maintained by Harris County Precinct 4. The trail stretches from Lakewood Forest Drive to Guernsey Road, and is
just under 2 miles long. The entire length of the trail is paved, and it runs along the north side of the gully. Heatherwood
residents south of the gully can have easy access to the trail by crossing the bridge from the Pool parking lot.
For more information, visit the official Precinct 4 trail website.
Important Announcement!
The North Harris County Regional Water Authority (NHCRWA) is in the process of bidding a stretch of new waterline that will go north and west from Louetta Road parallel to the existing Faulkey Gully Hike and Bike Trail. The waterline will cross over and through the existing asphalt walking trail in several locations. Indications are that the trail will be closed for a period of time during the construction. The estimated timeline for bid award and start of construction is near the end of June 2009. The contractor is obligated to restore the trail back to its original design standards.
NHCRWA will shut down the trail for an undetermined amount of time during critical stages of construction. The construction contract will be managed by AECOM Engineering for NHCRWA. For further details or comments, please contact Doug Schmidt project construction manager at 713-267-2792
Please note that this is not a Harris County Precinct 4 construction project.
